Terrence Richard Cummings born October 18, 1937 to the late James DeVille Cummings and Florence (Graff) Cummings of Westview, Pa, died March 6, 2024. Beloved husband of 64 years to Marianne Frances (Miraglia) Cummings of Carnegie, Pa. Father of Jovanna Magersuppe (Paul), Madonna Mullin (Mark), Brian Cummings (Karen), Cynthia Cunningham, and Kenneth Cummings (Dawn). Grandfather to Korey (Mallorie), Zachary (Jamie), Brian, Katlin (Joshua), Jenna (Patrick), Kevin (Alexandra), Colin (Codi), Benjamin and Ryder. Great Grandfather to Sophie, Mia, Liam, Landon, Josephine, Carter, Evelyn, Ellie, Cora, Maverick, and Annie. Terry was the youngest of six boys born in the middle of the great depression to a devoted Catholic family. Survived by his brother Joseph of Wexford, preceded in death by brothers Jim, Bill, Bob and Jack. After a brief time at St. Fidelis seminary, Terry graduated from North Catholic High School in 1955. Guided by our Lord and Savior, Terry was the consummate Christian always putting others before himself. Beside his family, the church was his love. A eucharistic minister, lector, cantor, and daily reader of the Liturgy of the Hours, Terry’s favorite day was Sunday. Active for over 40 years in the Knights of Columbus holding positions of Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator among others. It was a sight to behold to see Terry and his brothers Jack and Joe in their 4th degree regalia for K of C ceremonies. A secular Franciscan espousing the example of St. Francis of Assisi, he was rarely without his Tau hanging from his neck. He met Marianne on a blind date in 1959 and married in 1960. Terry and Marianne had five children in 6 ½ years! All children were with him hours before his passing. A quiet man with a calm demeanor and wonderful sense of humor, he was always happy to be with his family, engage in conversation and tell a joke or two. A shoe salesman at Flagg Brothers early in his career, Terry then moved into the tire and automotive industry before working 17 years in the Prothonotary’s Office in Allegheny county. Although Terry was of German and Scotch-Irish descent, it wasn’t long before he was quickly converted to Italian, his beloved wife’s nationality! Terry will be missed by many, loved by all but no doubt is in his happy place, with Jesus. Friends received at the Bagnato Funeral Home, Jefferson St., Carnegie Saturday 6-8 PM Sunday 2-4 6-8 PM. Funeral mass ibn St Barbara Church, Bridgeville Monday 10 AM. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to the St Elizabeth Ann Seton Food Pantry 300 3rd Ave Carnegie, PA 15106 Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.
